The exhibition “Travailleurs de rue. Tisseurs de liens” of Dynamo International is at the Brussels Museum of Industry and Labour until April 2019

The Brussels Museum of Industry and Labour and the Belgian Francophone Association for Training, Research and Social Intervention (ABFRIS) propose from 21 December 2018 to 7 April 2019 an exhibition around the history of the social workers. Starting from the notion of aid work, visitors will follow the evolution of training specific to these occupations and their professionalization.

Who are the social workers? Who are these women and men who accompany people in difficulty of all ages, backgrounds and in all their diversity? Who are these professionals who listen, advise, inform, connect, educate, build projects… help to live?

Over the last hundred years, social work has professionalised and provides nowadays qualified training. It has also become more diverse and complex. The exhibition “Vivre” presents this evolution until today and the stakes for tomorrow.

This event will feature the exhibition “Travailleurs de rue, Tisseurs de liens” produced by Dynamo International in collaboration with the photographer Véronique Vercheval who followed street educators in several countries. She brought back images highlighting their commitment in sometimes different contexts. The photographs reveal the action of these street workers, the first and last links in the educational chain and social assistance.

A particularly rich program of activities, workshops and guided tours is organized alongside the exhibition “Vivre” to better identify the challenges of social workers.
