#STREATPROJECT Meeting of Dynamo Pilot Group (June 2016)
Among the 50 members of the network, 19 countries were present during this international meeting of 2016 in Rufisque : Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Holland, Finland, democratic republic of Congo, Canada, USA, Mexico, Bolivia, Brazil, Philippines, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Austria, France, Haiti, and Senegal.
The week of work was articulated around the functioning of the network (internal regulation) and political activities on the subject of social exclusion, particularly important in every country.
The objectives of the Friday 1st of July, organised by COSAED (partner from Senegal), was to officially spread the recommendations approved during the week by the network toward the local authorities in Rufisque.
Publication of the European Consultation on the General Comment on children in street situations
Some European members of the network attended the European Consultation on the General Comment on children in street situations the last 18th and 19th of April 2016, organised by Dynamo International.
This consultation event was a unique opportunity for children and young people living a street situation to make their voices heard and to influence the highest level of policy-making: The United Nations level.
The report has now officially been transmitted to the UN Working Group by our partner the Consortium for Street Children (CSC).
Next steps: we can’t definitely predict when will be finished the draft designed by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. It’s likely that it will be finished during a Committee’s sessions (which are in Jan/Feb, May/June and Sept/Oct 2016) and made public shortly afterwards.
Our next action as CSOs could be the implementation of the General Comment at a national level, once the official draft is finished.
